Caldera has released a beta version of the DOS-based World Wide Web browser:

The WebSpyder

This is a special pre-release version of Caldera WebSpyder. Caldera has provided us with this release to make it available to the readers of the OpenDOS and DJGPP mailing lists. We ask that if you are not a subscriber to any of those that you do not download this special pre-release.

Below you will find links to the Caldera WebSpyder binary distribution packages.
Make sure you read notes below the table, or otherwise you might be unable to install the software.

Caldera WebSpyder for DOS binary distributions
Distribution Descriptions
webspyb1.exe

A ZIP self-extracting archive containing file distribution of the Caldera WebSpyder.
This distribution is meant to be extracted to a directory on your hard disk and installed from there.
d14web.exe
(1,531,942 bytes)
A ZIP self-extracting archive containing boot-disk distribution of the Caldera WebSpyder.
This distribution is meant to be extracted to a directory on your hard disk and then copied to floppies using the utilities shipped in the archive.


Both archives are encrypted with a password given below:

web1-hqsjnsannj

Archives have been created using the PKSFX software and to extract the files properly you have to invoke them as shown below:

your_distribution.exe -s<password>
This will unpack the archive and unscramble the data.

Make sure to read the readme.txt files from the distributions prior to installing the software.
