Development

GEM is currently being developed by the open-source community, and as such is constantly evolving.  The current 'official' source release is Digital Research's GEM/3 version 3.1 - ViewMAX III (from Panther - DR DOS 7) is available in a somewhat corrupt, non-building source archive.  Work is underway to convert the source code to a more accessible development environment (at the moment, Pacific C or DJGPP) instead of the current mix of tools used by Digital Research.
